Natural Festive decor: How to create a Christmas mantle

Updated: Dec 5, 2022

I am a fan of bringing in the festive feeling with plenty of natural foliage. I wanted to share my Christmas mantle design with you, as it is so simple and requires no floral mechanics.

First up, I use the large Leaflace - to ensure the most impact. I shape the leaves - (see the styling section of my website). 9 leaves covers the mantle nicely.

I place the leaves on the mantle, 5 on one side and 4 on the other, ensuring the leaves creep up the wall and curl over the mantle to create height in the arrangement. The two heavy glass tealight candle holders keep everything in place. These ones are from Arket.

Then, I place 5 small sprigs of fresh Holly in and around of the leaves. If you wanted, you could add some Rosemary to give the mantle a beautiful fragrance,

Done - that easy!

Couple of things to note. The Leaflace lasts many months, but the fresh Holly will look a little wilted after a few days. You could replace these elements every now and then or wrap the ends in some damp tissue held with foil to prevent the wilting.
